Relocating to Chapel Hill
We understand better than anyone the challenges of relocating to a new home. Over the years, Kenan Connection members have compiled resources that we hope make your transition a bit easier...and we are happy to share this knowledge with you.

As a start, we recommend bookmarking the following websites and checking back often to explore all the area has to offer.

There are a number of different living options in the Chapel Hill, Durham and Carrboro area. MBA students and partners typically do one of four things in terms of living arrangements: rent in one of several popular apartment complexes, rent an apartment or home from a private landlord, buy a condo or home, or live on campus (although this option has very limited availability). If you choose to rent in a local apartment complex, the Kenan Connection can provide information that may help you compare the options.

Once you’re here, we can help you learn the lay of the land. All of us have had the unsettling experience of arriving in Chapel Hill without a clue. You’ll wonder where to grocery-shop, how to get to the airport, where to tailgate for those fall football games and what coffee shop has the best emergency Sunday morning egg and cheese sandwiches. You’ll also want to re-register and license your car(s), find a vet for your pets and evaluate daycare options for your children. Rest assured that the Kenan Connection will be here to ease your transition and help you make the most of the area. Please don't hesitate to contact us if you have questions about moving or settling in.

Partners come to Chapel Hill with a wide range of backgrounds. Some plan to continue working in already well-established careers. Some view this as a good time to explore new paths, while others seek employment in part-time or temporary roles. Regardless of your career choices, the Kenan Connection allows you access to:
  • job search tips and advice
  • guidance on top employers in the Triangle

  • and more!
If you use the Kenan Connection for nothing else, we hope you use us as a way to network. Let us know if you would like to be put in touch with someone who has successfully completed a job search. Tell us your field, explain the position(s) you're seeking and give us your most recent job search materials (resume, cover letter, etc)...and we'll do our best to hook you up with someone who can help.

We also encourage you to join the Kenan Connection LinkedIn and Facebook groups for added networking opportunities.
